New Mission Director to Cambodia Sworn In

WASHINGTON, D.C. - JUNE 19, 2009 - The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) announced today the swearing in of Flynn Fuller as the Agency's new Mission Director to Cambodia. Counselor to the Agency, Lisa Chiles, presided over the ceremony and administered the oath of office.
"He has the qualifications, experience, and technical expertise to lead our Mission, and demonstrate the United States' strong commitment to the country. I am confident that Flynn will do an incredible job as Mission Director in Cambodia," said Ms. Chiles.
As Director, Mr. Fuller will manage a budget of more than $65 million with programs in health, education, governance, anti-trafficking, rule of law, human rights, and economic growth.
Mr. Fuller began his career with USAID in 1979 as an Agricultural Development Officer in East and West Africa and has spent more than 25 years serving in the field. He most recently served as the Director of the Office of South and Central Asian Affairs in USAID's Bureau for Asia, with oversight of 11 countries, including two of the Agency's highest priorities Afghanistan and Pakistan.
Before returning to Washington, Mr. Fuller served as the USAID Representative to Timor Leste from 2005 to 2007, during which time he was awarded the Meritorious Honor Award for his efforts during the 2006 crisis. Prior to that, he served for three years as the Director of the Office of Limited Presence Countries in USAID's East Africa Regional Mission, based in Nairobi, Kenya.
Mr. Fuller earned a bachelor's degree and a Master of Science degree in Agriculture from California Polytechnic State University. He is married to Jo Ellen Fuller and they have two daughters, Kimberley and Alisa.
