ATTORNEY — USAID

The United States Agency for International Development, which implements the U.S. economic and humanitarian foreign assistance program, seeks applications for a staff attorney positions in the Office of General Counsel.

Procurement: The attorney will provide all necessary legal support on a broad array of matters involving USAID acquisition and assistance activities. USAID implements most of its world-wide programs through Federal contracts and grants. We seek an attorney with solid experience in advising on the planning, award and administration of U.S. Government contract and assistance instruments. Thorough knowledge of Federal Government operations and Federal procurement statutes, rules and procedures is required. For this position, applicants should have a minimum of at least 6+ years of practice predominantly in Federal procurement law. Experience in Federal construction contracting, real property leasing, and intellectual property are desirable; a commitment to development and foreign assistance is desirable as well. Position is based in Washington, DC. Depending on level of professional experience, starting salaries for this position will be up to GS-14 currently $98,033 - $127,442 per year, with promotion potential to GS-15. The United States Agency for International Development, which implements the U.S. economic and humanitarian foreign assistance program, has an opening for an attorney who will provide legal support on a broad array of Federal procurement and assistance activities funded under the President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR). Applicants should have a minimum of 6+ years legal experience. Experience in Federal Procurement, Grants and Appropriation law is required. A commitment to development and particularly global health issues, and experience with PEPFAR are desirable.

The position will be based in Washington, DC. Applicants must be willing to travel to developing countries. These are non-career appointments, limited to a term not to exceed five years. Depending on level of relevant professional experience, starting salary for this position will be up to GS 14 (currently $98,033 - $127,442 per year), with promotion potential to GS-15.
